Synthesis, characterization and antimicrobial activities of Schiff base ligands derived from amino acids- alanine and phenylalanine and their metal complexes - A review
Abstract
Schiff base complexes of amino acids have gained importance because of their physiological and pharmacological activities. The complexes of amino acid Schiff bases are considered to constitute new kinds of potential antimicrobial reagents due to the presence of azomethine functional group. This review summarizes the synthesis, characterization and anti-microbial activities of amino acid Schiff base ligands derived from L-? alanine and L-Phenylalanine and their metal complexes.
